Questions to send to Doctor

Hi,

I am wondering if I should send the Questions that I have for my doctor via fax? Or should I wait for when I see him in a few weeks? I have two pages worth of pre-op and post-op questions to ask him and I am not sure if he will have the time to answer them in the allotted time that they have to be with patients? I am pretty sure he will spend the time but then I am not sure.

Thanks,

Stephanie

Re: Questions to send to Doctor

Hello sister Stephanie,
Try giving the office a call. One of the office people should be able to tell you if faxing is a good idea. I'm not sure how far in advance the Dr. will look at your chart. Kim in my Dr's office is fantastic and gave me great info.
Be sure to get the booklet from hystersisters... it will answer a lot of your questions. Even some you didn't think to ask.

I am also pre op... If your Dr. won't spend the time then you should re-evaluate. I also went with 2 pages of questions and my 1st gyn onc spent as much time with me answering everyone of my questions. I will see a davinci surgeon tomorrow with the same list of questions plus a few more. If they won't spend the time with you now to make sure you are comfortable and understand do you really want that person doing surgery on you? I am sure they will give you the time you need.
Good luck and be well,
mzfit

Re: Questions to send to Doctor

Hi.

I have received the booklet and it was great. It has a lot of the questions that I put down on those two pages.

The doctor has spent much more time than I have thought he would when my dh and I had questions these last few months and the year that I have been under his care. So I am 99.99 % sure he will when I have the questions to ask. I like this doctor and he has been so helpful, even though the Lupron he prescribed for me did not work.

I will call the office to make sure, as you suggested....

Thank you again, fellow hystersister....

Stephanie

Re: Questions to send to Doctor

I thought of some questions after the one appt I had with my surgeon and because she splits her time between two offices, called the office and asked if I could just fax a list of questions (instead of waiting to be worked back into the two days a week she is in my town) - It worked out well, the nurse called back after going through them with my surgeon and I got the answers I needed without having to go back and see her prior to my surgery. Best of luck with your surgery!
