Re: Wound open and weeping

My doctor is having me see wound care. They come to my house and dress it. My only complaint is that I'm now not allowed to leave my house.

We use this amazing stuff called Owens cloth made by kendell. Its a non adherent surgical dressing. Its very expensive. But works amazing. I had bowel showing n it never stuck to my wound. There is also mebutel it is a dressing that lays on top of the wound. N we put a wet to dry dressing over it. U could probably just use an abd pad on top to soak draining. Mention to ur doctor. The most important thing is to not end up with a hernia. Don't strain to poop. N hold a pillow snug to ur tummy if u cough. Very important. U Will b fine. I'm healing very well. Should be completely closed in a couple weeks. Had surgery January 12th. I already have a hernia. N have to have another surgery. Want to help anyone avoid being were I've been. Been the longest two months of my life. N its not over yet. But with help from my the lord. My hubby my nurse n doctor. I'm gonna b ok. So r u

Re: Wound open and weeping

Thank u Pauline. I never expected to have to go threw all this. But when I was in the hospital the last time. I would sit outside in my lil wheelchair n watch the water fall n the ducks n much. But the children's hospital was right across thru street. I would watch the helicopter run wt least 10 times a day. It really put thing in perspective for me. There r kids over there with incurable sickness. N I'm crying over an open wound that I know Will heal as long as I take care
