Re: bowel prep

What are you drinking? My doctor prescribed magnesium citrate.

Re: bowel prep

If you're drinking magnesium citrate, try Gatorade. And just the basic type (don't get any of the high energy ones).

I didn't mix them - just had a glass of Gatorade to sip from after taking a drink of the magnesium citrate. Found it helped get that flavor out.

Re: bowel prep

Be thankful its not "Fleets Phosphasoda". Ive had that as a bowell prep before & its the worst one out there. I cant even look @ the bottle w/o my stomach turning. Im hoping my doc orders the mag citrate or whatever else. If some1 is prescribed the fleets phos- dont mix w anything- just makes it worse & prolongs it. Glad to hear abt the gatorade.
Best wishes for a "smooth" day & best wishes @ the castle!!

Re: bowel prep

I mixed it with Cranberry juice (I used the Magnesium Citrate lemon flavored) and a lot of ice. I drank it straight down. It's the easiest way. The bowel prep is definitely rough.

Re: bowel prep

I mixed mine with Gatorade, but was told not to use any red drink, because of appearing blood-like.
Good luck - it's really not that bad of an experience. I thought it would be much worse; it was inconvenient but not that awful.

Re: bowel prep

I chilled the magnesium citrate and just drank it straight through a straw. I placed the straw at the back of my throat to avoid tasting the drink and chased it with lime gatorade.
