When to take a warm bath

So I'm about 20 days post surgery and I take warm showers everyday but would love to take a bath. 20 days should be long enough right? My incision looks good never had any seeping or anything. Just afraid if I soak it will Sofen it and cause concerns .

Re: When to take a warm bath

I was not allowed to take a bath until my 6 week check up! My doc said there was a chance of infection - I would check with your doc before you do!

Re: When to take a warm bath

I know!! Totally sucks! All the little things we took for granted! My girlfriend loaned me a shower chair and I found that very comforting - just sitting and letting the hot water just flow! I used it for 6 weeks until I was able to bathe - my hubby thought I was crazy, but I didn't care!

Re: When to take a warm bath

I so wish I could take a hot soak in the bath. Out of town and the hotel hottub looks so inviting. But since I am not 4 weeks til Tuesday figured it would not be good.

Well the bright side is your feeling good enough to be out and about! That's a plus! But yes a hot tub sounds great!!

Re: When to take a warm bath

When I got my discharge papers it stated no tub baths for 6 weeks. I am starting 5th week today, and never wanted a hot tub bath so bad. I do know one thing though-once I get the go ahead, i will not use the jets. Don't want the pressure coming at me from all sides jumbling things up. Not that gutsy yet!

Re: When to take a warm bath

Hi I was allowed a bath after 2 weeks as long as no soap and bubble bath in the water, I just lay there in a bath of hot water and read its lovely to get rid of the aches and pains. I'm 4 weeks tomorrow and don't think I could of made it another 2 weeks.

Re: When to take a warm bath

I got cleared for baths today at 2 weeks but my dr. said everything is almost completly healed so he had no problems with it.

Re: When to take a warm bath

Just hopped out of my first bath (cleared by Dr at 4 weeks).
It was soooo lovely, all the heaviness gone - felt twice as heavy when I got out haha. Not enough to stop me tomorrow though!
