Is this normal?

Home from yesterday's surgery. Peeing takes 20 minutes of dribble. My pain is very intense and my meds wear off 1 1/2 hours before I am due for more. Is this normal?

Re: Is this normal?

There are so many different factors to take into consideration.

How much pain you had before surgery, the type of surgery you had, how much work the surgeons had to do, how long it will take for your body to stop reacting to the trauma of the surgery, and what sort of meds you have been given.

There are many sisters who have trouble with pain management, especially in the first few weeks. Your Doc may be able to prescribe something which will work better for you.

There are fortunate people like me who had no pain before or after surgery.

Both are normal.
Join us on the Recovery Progress thread starting Mar 12th to share your experiences with sisters having their operations this week. They are all at the same stage of recovery as yourself.

You will get messages on this thread offering direct advice.

I have found that other new posts further down can have advice relevant as well. There are many pages, and there are many different topics, but tracking down the headings you may find some useful tips

Go back to your doc for advice and different meds, if the pain does not improve in a couple of days
