Re: 2 weeks and no jumping jacks?!

Thought I had the laziest teenagers on the face of the earth!! I had a good support system of friends that set up meals for a month! My DH did SO much around the house that I now have a housekeeper every other month!! I still over did things, like going back to work 13 days post op from LAVH/bladder sling and man did I pay for it when I did! I was not ashamed of the surgery I had to have and I let everyone know. As a result I got overwhelming support from my colleagues at work and on the home front!! Sorry about the pain. I was taken off all pain meds a week after my surgery because of an almost near fatal accidental overdose with other meds and was back in the hospital after passing out in front of my family Christmas morning for 2 1/2 more days. I quietly suffered through the pain which completely sucked, but I was too afraid to take any narcotics. I NEVER go through the nurse!!! Don't ever be afraid to call your doc! Obviously your nurse did not have a hysterectomy!!! Good luck!

Re: 2 weeks and no jumping jacks?!

my [email protected] 4 months post looks like a warzone but i am slowly digging my way back out.
i found that alot of nurses did not understand the immense pain that goes w/ this most difficult surgery,my dr. really understood and it was a man!
to be quite honest,i really started feeling almost 100%better @3 months post.
i took narcotics on/off for basically the 1st 7 weeks.anything that helped w/ pain level i was all for.i feel sorry for any woman that has had to suffer w/o any help.i tore a vaginal muscle @7 weeks post and i am telling you girls, this hurt me more than the 1st 2 weeks of the hyst. recovery.DO NOT put stress on your belly.i carried 2 small loads of wood in and simply pushed vacummn cleaner to living room and i didnt hurt at all BUT within 3 hours my stomach area felt like someone had splashed hot boiling water on it.i thought i was dying.this took almost a month to heal. so as you can read,i was the worst patient.i hated all that laying around.it stunk bad!
but NOW I FEEL ALOT BETTER.you will start feeling better by the day.

Re: 2 weeks and no jumping jacks?!

Ask your family members, male and female, when was the last time they had an organ removed? I get mad for you!

Don't be scared. Some women do have complications, but some of the complications can be avoided by listening to your doctor. Your job right now is to rest. Follow your doctor's instructions, refer often to our Checkpoints , and listen to your body. I hope your recovery is going well.
