Post-op Recovery process

My surgery for total hysterectomy, TVT, bladder lift and posterior rectal repair was on Friday, 24 Feb 2012. I went home Saturday. On Tuesday, I was showing signs of an infection, so I emailed my doctor. She prescribed meds for a UTI. Since then, my recovery has been going very well. I went in 2 weeks post-op for a quick check and she said I was healing faster than she expected. My 4 week check is on 19 Mar 2012. I am feeling very well although I am still very swollen and having trouble fitting into some of my shorts with out hurting my belly.
I have a great surgeon. She has emailed and called me at least 2-4 times a week since the surgery to check on my progress. She is a Navy LT. Commander at Walter-Reed Bethesda Medical Center near D.C.
I can't wait to get back to training and physical exercise but I will take it slow. More than anything I can't wait to make love to my husband and not be in excruciating pain.

Re: Post-op Recovery process

I just had my surgery on Tuesday and so far have been doing good. have some pain here and there and I take my pain killers (only 1)
The gas moving around is more annoying than anything else. I love my heating pad as well as my pillow. I also found that if I move my legs up and lay flat it helps the gas escape with a little push. lol I'm keeping track of everything, when I had my first gas bubble escape , when i take my pain killers, if it was one or two. OH and if you need to go up and down stairs, going back up, go up backwards. What a difference. lol
I hope you continue to heal nicely.
