If you made your own cough pillow, how did you make it?

Re: did you make your own cough pillow?

Hi Grannykat

I did not make my own pillow; I used a small travel pillow to hold to my tummy. It sure did come in handy!! The Hystersisters Store also sells a tummy pillow.

If you have ever made a pillow, I would just do the same, only make it more rectangular than square, like a travel pillow (as opposed to cylindrical like a neck pillow), and use a nice, light cottony fabric.

Best,

No need to make a pillow, any small pillow will do.

Re: did you make your own cough pillow?

Medium firm. I also used my pillow to put between my knees so I could lie on my side.

Re: did you make your own cough pillow?

I read in another post on here somewhere that someone had gotten a cute cartoon-ish uterus pillow at < > so I ordered one for myself today. I need to laugh about this to keep from crying all the time!

Re: did you make your own cough pillow?

In the hospital I had a blanket taped in a square and on the ride home I had a nice little pillow I bought at the Christmas Tree Shops. I can use it on the new sofa when we get it. lol thinking ahead. LOL

I used a travel pillow too. My mom made a cute little pillowcase for it. But I also used the belly binder. Using both was a lot more effective for coughs than just the pillow alone. (Also read on here to do a Kegel when you cough.)

Re: did you make your own cough pillow?

Some ladies here suggested a mini Pillow-Pet. So, I got a little red dragon one, and he has been a wonderful buddy from the ride home, to walking around, and coughing and sneezing. If I hadn't gotten that, I just would've gotten a small travel or throw pillow. Best of luck to you in your recovery!

I found a mini Pillow Pet at Kroger for 9.99! He is a cute tye-dye bunny! I am such a geek!
