Spotting stopped and started again..

I am 6 weeks post -op. My spotting had changed to a yellowish color last week and then stopped by this Monday. It started again last night - pink again. Could it be from doing too much?
I go back to work(preschool teacher) next Wed so I am going to be walking all day and getting up/down from small chairs. So if it is from doing too much, I am guessing that I am going to be spotting for awhile.
I am going to call the dr and ask when they open.

Re: Spotting stopped and started again..

It could be from doing to much or it could also be from dissolving stitches. Have you had a post op check yet? Were you able to get a hold of the drs office? Lets us know what you find out.

Re: Spotting stopped and started again..

I had a 4 week follow up and a 6 week follow up on Monday. I just talked to the dr. He said that it could be from the stitches dissolving or from the cuff healing. Of course, if it gets to be like a period, I am to call right away but it is definitely just spotting.

Glad that it isn't anything serious! Take it easy!

Re: Spotting stopped and started again..

I am having the same thing and getting frustrated. I had no spotting for the first 3 weeks. Then started spotting lightly 4th and 5th week. Then heavier spotting 6th week. Now back to light spotting. At my post-op last week they did not see anything of concern during the exam and said the spotting was normal. I forgot to ask them how long is normal for the spotting to go on for. I have recovered so quickly and easily and I find this discouraging. I want to be done and completely back to normal!!

Re: Spotting stopped and started again..

Yep, I'm feelin' ya. I'm 5 weeks post-op for LAVH and have had NO spotting at all until today (very light and light brown in color). I've been concerned because most of yesterday I felt crampy, and then last night when I rolled over in bed, I had some abdominal discomfort which has persisted throughout today. I've taken it very easy today, for sure, but this is a real bummer and I've wondered if it's just a normal part of the healing process. I'm sorry you are dealing with it but glad your doc said it was normal. Are you having any pain at all?

Re: Spotting stopped and started again..

I did have some cramping last night but not today. I was not happy about having to buy another box of panty liners.... I am still spotting but not as much today.

Re: Spotting stopped and started again..

Had a vaginal hysterectomy 3-7 and kept my ovaries. Right after surgery 1st 3 days were rough but after that no pain meds required maybe an ib 800 here and there. It's just an uncomfortable feeling really. Still constipated. But besides that I feel great. It's no worse than my worst period pain and cramp wise. Every once in a while I'll get sharp pains in my belly but I guess that's normal. I actuall spent the whole day with kids at the park. No lifting or running. And hey I ain't gonna lie I might milk this for a while just to get the hubby to do laundry and vacuum lol!!!
