Re: Weight gain?

Hi Sherbet,

it does sound like you make healthy food choices...
but in my professional dietitian opinion, you can over eat healthy foods as well....

i firmly believe all people should have afood scale in their kitchen

i do NOT measure veggies...calories in those are negligible esp. considering the fiber in them

but i DO measure my meats to a 4oz portion (uncooked then cook)..i always measure carbs and dairy..

i use a program (free) called fitday.com to tally my food..

do you ever eat out? i do eat out but its only on saturday and its usually 1, maybe 2 meals, of something that i would not normally eat...and even at that, i keep the portion size realistic and try not to go overboard. I also do not drink alcohol, ever.

when you do exercise, do you ever do resistance training?
if you want, you can also list what a typical days menu looks like..

Re: Weight gain?

I use a scale for everything but veggies. I need lots of fibre to stay regular. I weigh right down to the raisins and walnuts that go into my oatmeal... every gram!

I agree it's easy to eat larger portions that realized.

All I am really saying is that my body is not reacting the way it did before hysterectomy. Years ago I lost 5 clothing sizes, no problem. Lost consistently every week for 16 months. Have maintained with no problem.

I am going for blood work this week to get my thyroid and other hormone levels checked.

I don't drink any alcohol. It's not my taste. We eat out maybe twice a month, always within reason - perhaps a split dessert. I stay within my points.

I did weights and treadmill before surgery. I have not been cleared for any weights or resistance yet. My pelvic floor is very weak. I am only cleared to stroll....

Thanks for your response
