uterus attached to bowel

I am having a hysterectomy due to ongoing problems with bleeding, pain and diarrhoea. My uterus is apparently attached to my bowel and possibly bladder. I would just like to hear from any women who have undergone hysterectomy where their uterus was attached to their bowel. Did you have any complications during surgery and recovery due to this, particularly in relation to your bowel?

Re: uterus attached to bowel

I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I wish I could answer your questions, but I do not have any experience with this. I have read other posts of women who have. Hopefully one of them will see this post and respond.

Re: uterus attached to bowel

My heart goes out to you during this time. I had surgery on 3/8, endometriosis, ovaries and cervix removed, and was scheduled for a possible bowel resection. My ovary was stuck to my bowel. They did not have to do a bowel resection but had to reinforce my bowel with several stitches.

Thank you Marestail and A.Marie, it is kind of you both to respond.
A.Marie can I ask did the stitches to your bowel impact on your recovery?

No, the stitches have not impacted my recovery, however, it did make me fearful to have a BM after surgery. I was on a liquid diet while in the hospital. When I got home, I drank Miralax daily, eat 2 prunes daily, and drink plenty of water.

Before the surgery, they did not know my ovary was attached to my bowel.
