11 months post-Hysterectomy, now ACNE, ANXIETY, severe Hair-thinning, ABDOM. OBESITY

HELP! I feel like crap! I'm having trouble with anxiety in the middle of the night. I wake up with my heart racing worrying about stupid things. I look like crap-I am only 36 but my face if filled with cystic acne (never this bad since puberty), my hair is falling out-thinning-and brittle, I feel so ANXIOUS, sad and fat (I have gained 30 pounds since the hysterectomy) all under my ab muscles making me look the ugliest I can ever remember being.

I wasn't ever like this before the hysterectomy. I am grateful for the lack of physical pain. I really am, but not the mental pain is wearing me down to the nib.

I see an new Gyn in two days. I am hoping he will check my hormone levels and proscribe more estrogen. I am on vivelle dot 0.05 and the lowest dose of prometrium, but I don't think it is nearly enough.

Please tell me things could get better. I can't live like this indefinitely!

I'm sorry this is happening ... I personally have kept one of my ovaries and am finding the hormones to start to level out so far. ( I am almost 9 weeks) In my opinion, you need to talk to the gyno or your family doctor about the anxiety. I have had a lot of anxiety / depression and it just makes coping with everything else so much more work. It is treatable, and you can learn some coping skills that will help you deal with the anxiety. Usually the answer isn't just to pop a pill ... But talk about it. I know this was a stressful event for me, and I am recovering ok so far! Every week I improve ...

I see you had both ovaries removed, are you on HRT?

0.05 is a relatively low dose of estradiol, I think. I'm 44, almost 2 months post-op, and on 2mg (1mg gel + 1mg oral). Your new gyn will help you determine the right dose for you, so hang in there and tell him all of your symptoms. My gyn doesn't feel the need to check hormone levels, so you might have to be a little firm about that. Also, might want to check your thyroid levels.
