Re: Pre-Op Hysterectomy and scared (severe adhesions)

Okay ladies my surgery is 7am tomorrow morning. Meet with both surgeons today (my colon surgeon and Gyn). Gyn feels its best to take everything (ovaries, tubes, uterus and possibly cervix). May have to keep cervix if it is glued down and too difficult to remove. Recovery in the hospital should be somewhere between 3-7 days. Colon doc will go in first to remove adhesions and scar tissue making way for Gyn to do his part. Surgery is scheduled for five hours. Can't wait to tell you how success it all was. Chat with you later.

Hugs
Dana

Re: Pre-Op Hysterectomy and scared (severe adhesions)

I had hysterectomy done 14th November 2011 due to suspected adenomyosis, I was having real problems with bladder and was going to loo every hour on the hour and had v bloated tum and was feeling a lot of pressure. When doc opened me up my uterus was hitched up into stomach cavity and bladder was attached to it, doc said I was in a real mess inside. I have come out the other side just fine and although bladder and bowels were very tender after op everything has healed nicely and no bags or anything needed so please try not to worry too much but do make sure you take it easy after the op as complete rest is the best thing you can do for yourself. Good luck!
