why more pain as time goes by?

Had TAH on 3/2. Felt pretty good once I got home from the hospital (day 3) up until about day 20 or so. Since then (it's now day 23), my pelvic/abdominal pain has been increasing. Am back to walking very slowly and gingerly. I'm not engaging in more activity-I've had to take it pretty easy all along due to my vertical incision opening up in two spots. Fortunately, it has not been bad enough to pack and there is no infection. But why the frequent sharp twinges of pain at this point? I feel like I'm going backwards in my recovery as I am taking my Norco again.

Re: why more pain as time goes by?

If your pain is increasing, I think it is time for you to call your doctor and figure out what is going on. The pain should be decreasing, not increasing. Twinges that come and go quickly are part of normal healing but what you describe doesn't sound like that. My twinges were enough for me to notice but nothing to stop me and catch my breath. Please let us know what your doctor tells you.
