Re: partial hyst.

Hi dbnorman... I am 5 weeks post-op also (TVH) and am still having a small amount of discharge. I still feel a little swollen too but have upped my activity level, which sadly can increase the swell belly short term. Based on what my surgeon tells me, the 6 week mark is the magic number. I see her Wednesday but she has said that it can take 6 weeks for the stitches to dissolve and all swelling to go down. So, we're close but not quite there yet!

Re: partial hyst.

Hi there! Well, it is true you really feel good around the 6 th week mark. For me the stitches took a long time to dissolve. As a matter of fact, I still have one that is trying to pearce thru the surface. Just think that tomorrow is my 8th week. Belly still swells at times every day, but everything really is back to normal, I feel great.

Re: total hyst.

I am just shy of the 5 week mark, and I had a LAVH. I still have some swelling and am very frustrated by it too. I have also gained weight, which I can't do much about yet. I have started my daily walking though, which actually makes me feel better emotionally, even though I still get tired easily.

Re: total hyst.

I haven't gained any weight. All I know is its so uncomfortable. I clean houses and bending over is very hard. Like cleaning bathtubs and picking things up. My dr released me with no retrictions. All I know is this has to go away soon.

Re: total hyst.

Hi dbnorman! Just until my 7 th week, I never picked up anything weighing over 5 lbs. My surgeon cleared me of everything in my 2nd week, but told me no lifting until 8weeks. Some times I tried like lifting a package of 24 bottles of water.....oh boy, did I pay for that. So be careful while you are working.

Re: total hyst.

To Sjdv thanx. Well vacuum weighs 8lbs and cleaning kit about 15lbs. That isn't to bad. I'm actually doing very well. After I went back to work my energy level shot up. I'm still taking it very slow. My clients know it will take me longer to clean and that is ok.
