Adenomyosis: pain with BM and urinary frequency ~ anyone else?

Just wondering, has anyone pre op with adeno had major pain at times before a bowel movement? As well as frequent urination?
I also have had a couple of times when I've felt the need to pee and had to sit on the toilet for up to 10 minutes before anything happened :/
No UTI or anything, it was quite odd...
Please let me know if any of these symptoms are "normal" or not.. Cheers

Re: Adenomyosis: pain with BM and urinary frequency ~ anyone else?

Yes, I have terrible pain with BM, it hurts more than the cramping and bloating. I take gas x and it helps a tiny bit, it hurts so abd I don't want to eat . I heard this goes with adenomyosis, I hope you feel better. My mom had a hysterectomy in her 30's and she said it helped her constipation, she felt way better after the hysterctomy.

Best of health to you.

Re: Adenomyosis: pain with BM and urinary frequency ~ anyone else?

Yes I had pain with BMs sometimes and increased urine frequency, leaking, etc. Turns out (after my hysto and getting the path report back) my uterus had gotten so big (2x normal because of Adenomyosis) that it had adhered to by bladder and my bowel. The space it took up and the fact that it was attached to my other organs makes these symptoms.

Re: Adenomyosis: pain with BM and urinary frequency ~ anyone else?

I also have (suspected) adeno. I have IBS and have had for years. Sometimes the pain before a BM is terrible... worse than the pain and cramping from my uterus. I have frequent constipation which I suspect is from my uterus being enlarged and sitting on my bowels. I also have a "tipped" uterus. It is sitting back. Sometimes the pressure on my bladder is terrible! I feel like I have to pee all the time! Sometimes no issues, and sometimes it takes forever for it to all..... get out! I imagine this may be what it feels like to be an older man with prostate issues!

Hope it helps to know this all seems quite normal! I had these same questions and from reading here I have realized this is normal... or at least OUR normal!

Have to say, I am looking forward to finding out what ACTUALLY being normal is!

Re: Adenomyosis: pain with BM and urinary frequency ~ anyone else?

I have urinary frequency. I have to lean forward when I'm on the toilet to get my bladder to empty. My doctor isn't sure if the hyster will solve this or not. She says it could be the adenomyosis or that it could simply be what has happened to my body after 3 pregnancies. I don't really have painful bowel movements, but my bowels are messed up, fluctuating between constipation and diarrhea which my dr thinks is due to irritation from my uterus. I also have really painful gas a week before my period. It sends referred pain to my shoulder and neck which is most likely due to the adenomyosis.
