Re: Last period ever!

Good luck Ladies In Waiting! I wish you all an uneventful surgery, and a speedy, uncomplicated recovery! I was a NERVOUS WRECK before my LAVH (Laparoscopically Assisted Vaginal Hyst) on April 3. I, too, started my LAST PERIOD EVER!! the day before my surgery, and the morning of surgery, it was so bad, I was quickly reminded why I was doing this! I was so nervous the night before that I couldn't sleep much and when I got up the morning of, I even threw up! After that I was like "Yeah! Let's do this! Last period ever! Woot woot!". Nerves got to me off and on until they gave me an Ativan in the pre-op room. Everything went smoothly, and I went home the next evening after being able to pass gas, walk a little bit, tolerate oral meds and food, and pee like a big girl! 5 days post-op, I did get a UTI from the catheter, but didn't recognize the symptoms b/c of all the other aches and pains. Good thing I called my Doc. She knew right away what it was and called in an antibiotic for my DH (Dear Hubby) to pick up for me. The bottom line is, if you have any questions or feel different than you've been feeling, call the Doc just in case!
Again, Good Luck and Hugs! See you on the other side!!

Re: Last period ever!

But I can't see me going home the next day. I see my hospital stay as a break from the mundane.

I have to do a bowel prep and I'm not allowed any food at all on Wednesday, surgery is mid-morning Thursday. I'm hungry just thinking about it!!
