I haven't needed anything at all, other than some discharge at 3 days while using the bathroom.

I kept the leftover few from Flo's last visit.

Re: Last period ever!

I've used 4 pads total. No bleeding, just discharge a bit. I use panty liners now. I have read posts from others that bleed a bit and some that bleed a lot. I stocked up just in case, figured it never hurts to have pads in the house in case a guest needs them in the future.

Re: Last period ever!

My surgery is 4/17. I don't know how heavy I will bleed after surgery but I am packing my pads that I used for my heaviest days. I don't know if I will need that much but I am a firm believer in "better safe than sorry". good luck everyone.

Re: Last period ever!

I will bring some overnights (they are the Always in the purple packs - I have been needing those for my periods during the day for the past 6 months! They are 15 inches long!!!) and I will bring regulars and panty shields. Three different strengths.

Re: Last period ever!

I had TAH. I took some thick pads with me. The hospital provided their own and they were thin and long maxi pads. I only spotted enough for a liner and that lasted a few days, not even a whole week. But other ladies have had more bleeding. I wonder if it is the doctor's way of doing things, like his own surgery technique? That may be a silly thought, I don't know! So, maybe ask your doctor?

Re: Last period ever!

Probably has to do with technique, like you said. I have my biopsy tomorrow, hopefully it won't be as bad as the MRI was. I wasn't expecting the MRI to be bad at all, it was 2 days ago and I am still hurting everywhere! I want this over with!

Re: Last period ever!

I started yeasterday! Im so glad to see flo go. She has been a unwelcome guest in my life for many years. I have 3 boys great kids. I had my tubes tied 3 years ago and have had major issues since then. A prolapse and then theres the nonstop bleeding. I have to say if I didnt feel like someone was burning my insides out I woud be in party mode. Good luck to all who are going thorugh the surgery and God bless us all.

Re: Last period ever!

I too started my last period 5 days before surgery. I still marked day 1 in my calendar. The day of surgery there was stuff on a pad, the day after surgery NOTHING

I feel liberated and never realized how nervous I felt every day of the month.

I cannot wait to go through my panty drawer and get rid of all the old period panties.

Good luck with your surgeries!!

Re: Last period ever!

Rest assured sisters - they do not cancel or postpone surgery due to a visit from aunt flo, not even a yuk one Also, I wouldn't worry too much about packing pads for the hospital - they provide everything that you need, unless you just want your own. I only had light discharge, never any blood (had DVH) but the hospital gave me a whole pack of pads - the nurse had them in the bathroom waiting for me the very first time I got up and went in there I wanted to pack very lightly because I knew I wouldn't be staying long (just overnight) so I didn't take any pads at all.
