Re: could'nt do ablation

I didn't have the same problem but my ablation didn't work, probably because the fibroids did not allow contact with the endometrium. I had a normal period 5 days later. The Novasure didn't work so she tried Thermochoice (I think...it's been a while now). My TLH had a much better result!

Re: could'nt do ablation

I had the same thing happen to me - Novasure was a complete failure.

I have been referred to a surgeon for either a Thermachoice ablation or if he cannot access the uterus he will perform a hysterectomy on April 23. I will wake up to find out which happened.

At work they don't know if I will be out for one or four weeks.

Good luck to you!

Re: could'nt do ablation

My former Dr tried to dilate my cervix using pills and was planning to perform the procedure to release the hematometra (blood pooling in uterus)in his office. I didn't last 24 hours on the pills...the pain was heinous and my cervix was scarred and blocked FROM the abalation. I ended up having a hysteroscopy and now am having a hysterectomy tomorrow. Ablation was an epic fail for me...caused more problems than I bargained for. Good Luck to you in hopes that they find some procedure that will make you better.

Re: could'nt do ablation

My doc couldn't dilate my cervix to put an IUD in, otherwise I might would be able to get by without a hyster. When you have a uncooperative cervix, like mine, it greatly limits your treatment options.

They tried to dilate my cervix once years ago to fill my uterus with a solution so they could get a better ultra sound image and my cervix wouldn't dilate and it went into spasm. The pain almost made me vomit. It was horrible.
