Hoping to get cleared for surgery.

Saw my internist today to get cleared for surgery and as I suspected I'll need additional tests. My blood pressure and pulse are high, which I think it's from the lupron injection, and I have some ekg changes so she wants an echo and maybe stress test, chest cray and of course more bloodwork. I did suspect it would happen but with everything else and tryng to get ready for the surgery in about 5 or 6 week I really wished I would get cleared easily. My daughter is in need of her own medical care and I'm getting weekly iv iron treatment so these new tests just to become 1 more thing to have to get done . Trying to stay calm and get the blood pressure down . Sigh. I'll be glad when this surgery is over. Starting to feel the stress and I'm not one to get stressed.

Re: Hoping to get cleared for surgery.

Keeping you in my thoughts.

Is this high blood pressure a new diagnosis? Have you looked at your diet to see if you could alter anything that could also contribute?

Re: Hoping to get cleared for surgery.

I've been treated for years but it has been controlled. With all the doc visits lately I have noticed it slowly ticking up since my first lupron injection two weeks ago. I'm scheduled for another one in two weeks, which I'm now concerned about. Even the slight ekg changes can be a side effect of the injection. It stopped the 40 days of intense bleeding but if its going to create cardiac problems then its not worth it to me.
