DON'T ignore a FEVER !!

I had my procedure last Tuesday came home Friday and Sunday night I got chills and a fever. I didn't think much of it but my Doc office after hours nurse said to go to the ER and Thank GOD I did !

I had a CT scan of my abdomen done and it turned out I had a small infected abcess and a small blood vessel was bleeding !

I was immediately re-admitted, flooded with IV anti-biotics and given two pints of blood. I'm still at the hospital as I'm writing this to see if the vessel has stopped bleeding.

It has been a total setback and very disappointing, but I can't imagine what would have happened if I had just ignored my fever. It wasn't even that high....it was 100.5 at home and by the time I got to the ER it was nearly 102 !

Take HEED Sisters and follow your POST-OP instructions to the letter !!

Re: DON'T ignore a FEVER !!

Sorry to near about this set back, but very glad it was caught early ... I also had a blood transfusion due to blood loss during surgery. Makes you feel pretty crappy for a while ... You will feel better, take care and all the best in your recovery! Slow and steady wins the race!
