Re: I am a mess

Well KeepOnGoing your name says it all. We have to keep on going! You are also right that if the Lord wants us here or at Home with Him that is how it will be. Sometimes I just ask myself ... WHAT am I afraid off? Death? I shouldn't be. I know where I am going. It's like the line in the song ... "everyone wants to go to Heaven but no one wants to go now" : ) Pain? That can be controlled. There is so much fear and anxiety but in REALITY it's all ok. Unfortunately hanging on to this fact isn't easy! But you and I will KeepOnGoing and we will be ok and be able to look back on this and encourage others. Meanwhile bring on the xanex !!

Re: I am a mess

Boy time has flown! My date is next week-- a week from tomorrow--may 22. Its funny-- my fear has lessened-- my exhaustion has escalated!! I am trying to make my sons graduation day-- this coming Friday- a perfect day for him, and get my household stocked for all that it will need for a month-- and work my normal job too. I think by surgery day I will be ever so grateful for a good 2 hour nap, and am oddly looking forward to the 2 weeks off with an excuse to be waited on hand and foot (I know-- two weeks is being VERY hopeful) I am very overwhelmed-- bacause I baby my household so much now, I am literally trying to do everything that I do normally in a month's time, in a few short days-- so they won't have to do it-- and I am wearing myself out. Anyone with similar feelings?

Re: I am a mess

Please do not think you are a baby, what we are going through and what the others have gone through is very painful, but that is why we have wonderful doctors, they are here to manage that pain and make us comfortable. I too am waiting for the doctors office to call me with my surgery date. I wish is was yesterday. The anticipation is nerve racking and the pain is horrible. I am so grateful that God has allowed me to find all the wonderful "sisters" here. Please try try try to calm down before you know it we will be chatting about our post-op together. We will get through this. I Promise!!!!!

Re: I am a mess

Dear NotBrave. I know exactly what you are talking about. I went for my pre-op visit this morning and I was shaking so much that I couldn't be still. I got calmed down and you will too. I try to do things to get my mind off it. Easier said than done, I know, but it is possible. I hope so much for you that you get your problem taken care of soon so you won't have to worry about it anymore. Hopefully it won't be long. I've been waiting since March and I am having mine done Thursday. Keep your chin up!!!! It'll be over soon and you'll feel so much better.

Re: I am a mess

I cleaned like a mad woman yesterday and went for my pre-op today. I'm very nervous. I really don't know why because I've had surgery before but nothing quite this complicated. My husband will be looking after me during my recovery and he plans to baby me so he says now...LOL Like you, I am very particular about my house and I know he'll do a good job but it won't be like I would do it. We just have to take one day at a time and remember that there will be a day when we can clean it up OUR way before long. We just have to concentrate on getting ourselves well first. Keep smiling !!!! It'll be over before we know it.

Re: I am a mess

I can't believe tomorrow is my 4 week mark, boy has time flown by! Ladies don't worry, i know its easy to say and hard to do, i known the feeling i was driving myself crazy with worry and trying to get my house in order so my husband or kids wouldn't have to do it, but in all honesty housework will wait for ya! lol Try to relax and take lots of baths cause you won't be able to for a while after surgery, thats the worst part for me, that was my time to relax by myself with some music and a good book. I have had so many calgone take me away moments in the last few weeks but it was sooo worth it even though i am still slow on my feet and sore some days and really tire easily (naps are my best friend lately lol) i would do it again tomorrow, to not have the pain i had for years, it's amazing i wish i did this years ago! We are all here for you after surgery to help where we can and to listen when you need to talk or be a shoulder to cry on if need be....i think i'm a strong woman but sometimes you need to just take a step back and take care of yourself for a change, i know i am doing just that.....and plan to after i am back to my old self, i am just taking some me time now and then... i love my hubby and kids but have taken myself for granted too long and now it's me time to rest, heal and recover this is a long journey from beginning to end but so worth it in the long run! Good luck Trhinds, Kmb080701, and NotBrave on your up coming surgeries, keep us posted we will see you on the other side! Hugs to all and healthy healing! 8-)

Re: I am a mess

You have a strong faith in Jesus and I know HE will see you through all of this. He knows your fears and wants you to place yourself in His capable hands and trust Him. Sweetie, HE is going into the OR with you and will oversee everything that 's done in there and will guide the surgeon's hands. He is by your side as you wait; reach out to Him. You are not being self-absorbed, you are scared and that's natural. I wish you didn't have to wait so long. The waiting is HARD and it was for me, too. I had fears, but had to leave things in the hands of my Great Physician. God did give me the words to a hymn song and that really calmed me. There are so many verses in the Bible that will speak to you and be calming while you wait, and the day of your surgery. I will be praying for you along with your many sisters here. We CARE!! Here are some scriptures for you:

1Pet.2:24....By His stripes ye are healed.

Mt.21:21 "And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive"

Ps.103:3"He forgiveth all thy iniquities; he healeth all thy diseases."

2Tim.1:7 "For God hath not given us the sprit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

Jn.14:27"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid...."
Remember the parable about the women who had
been bleeding for 12 years and then she touched Jesus's
garment and was healed? That is Mark 5:25-34
Mark 5:34 "And He said to her, Daughter, your faith
has made you whole. Go in peace, and be healed of your
Isaiah 43: 2 When you go through deep waters
and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through
rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through
the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up- The flames
will not consume you.
Jeremiah 30:17 "I will restore you to health and heal
your wounds," declares the Lord.
Psalm 30: 2 O Lord my God, I called to you for help
and you healed me.
Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be
strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be
discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever
you go."
Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord himself goes before
you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor
forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

Romans 8:28 -- We know that all things work for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose

Isaiah 26:3 -- He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him

Jerimiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Before I formed you, I knew you. And before you were born, I consecrated you.
(Jeremiah 1:5).
You did not choose me, I chose you. (John 15:16).

I love you so much that I hung on the cross at Calvary. I died for you, and
if you believe in Me you will have everlasting life. (John 3:16).

Can a woman forget her own baby and not love the child she bore? Yet, even
should she forget, I will never forget you. I cannot forget you. See, I have
hold you in the palm of my hands. (Isaiah 49:15-16).
For I, the Lord your God, am holding you by the right hand. (Isaiah 41:13).

I will give you peace in the midst of a storm, not as the world giveth. Let
not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)
Peace I give which will pass all understanding and shall keep your heart and
mind. (Philippians 4:7).
When you lie down do not be afraid, your sleep shall be sweet. (Proverbs

Beloved my eyes are upon you and I will give you hope, for I am merciful.
(Psalm 33:18)
You will have access to my grace and rejoice in hope while sharing in the
glory of my Father. (Romans 5:2).
I will give you joy and peace. The mountains and hills will sing, and the
trees will clasp their hands before you. (Isaiah 55:12)
You may have sorrow now , but I will see you again, and your heart will
rejoice and no one will take your joy from you. (John 16:22).

Do not worry (Luke 12:9)
Even the hairs of your head have all been counted, so there is no need to be
afraid of anything. (Matthew 10:30).
The mountains may depart and the hills will be shaken but my steadfast love
for you will never end. (John 54:10).
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest. (Matthew 11:28).
Come, my love (Solomon 2:10).
Come, I will lead you into solitude and there I will speak tenderly to your
heart. I will be true and faithful. I will show you constant love and make
you mine forever. I will keep my promise, and you will really know me then as
never before. (Hosea 1:14,19-20).
I Am Who I Am. (Exodus 3:14).
I am the Lord your God. (Hosea 13:4).

Your Faithful Friend

I leave you with this special blessing: Numbers 6: 24-26
The Lord bless you and keep you:
The Lord make His face to shine upon you,
and be gracious to you:
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
and give you peace.

Lots of HUGS and Prayers for you and all our sisters who are facing surgery this week, as well as those who are recovering from their surgeries,

Fom Lovelyladylumps

I am not sure if I am near Menopause. I am not having hot flashes and my periods are montly and regular. I am 53. I called to schedule the surgery and they are supposed to call me back. Am I ready? They say to be 100 percent sure. No I am not sure. I can't imagine being sure. I could wait for menopause but then I may end up having more problems and a TAH when I want a RALH. I am also driving my family crazy. They need to schedule and so does my boss. I know it is about me but I need to move in a direction. I am tired of the pressure, the pain, the peeing and the constipation. I just wish someone would tell me the right answer.
