Re: I am a mess: surgery 5/31

24 hours. Anxiety this morning but still ok. I do feel like crying though.

I hope and pray all goes well and I don't wake up in terrible pain. Oh my gosh I don't want to do this.

Ok I have to remember all I know ..... most especially that my Lord is in control and wants the very best for me.

But humanly speaking ........... HELP !!!!

Re: I am a mess: surgery 5/31

I am getting pretty shakey and losing my perspective. I think I might cry.

Why can't I maintain the peace I had? Why am I so weak?

Can't wait for you both to come over to our group. I just got home today. So glad to be home. Don't worry. I was freaked but actually was calm when arrived. It goes by fast. Once back on the operating bed I was out in three seconds. Then woke up. Pain not bad. Gas pain the worst but just take it hour by hour. Ttyl

Not brave...I went in yesterday and had surgery at ten. Back in room at 1-2ish. Can't really remember. Got home today at one. Had to pee so much before let me go.

Going per a lot so sore from up and down. Trying to stay in recliner. Haven't passed gas. So pain from that still. Took gas ex.

Thinking of you....it will be so fast I promise.

Re: I am a mess: surgery 5/31

Hi Not Brave. I'm new to your thread so hopefully I'm not repeating something someone has already said. I had my LSH on May 21st and was released the same day at 5, much to my surprise. I had heavy periods since my mid 40s (now 49). I couldn't stand it--not knowing if i would overflow at work or at the gym. i always had to wear dark pants just in case. When my gyn mentioned a hysterectomy i was ready to say yes without much thought. I looked forward to the day where i would no longer worry about a period. I don't know if this helps you, but try to focus on the outcome==less pain, no period etc. I was so desparate to stop my periods, i knew pain and\or nausea would ultimately be worth it.

I admit that i have been very fortunate (knock on wood) that my recovery has been really easy. I even asked my Dr a couple of hours after surgery, if he really took anything out. I saw him today (1 week check) and he is still surprised that I am do so well. I do have super friends who keep coming over or calling to make sure i'm ok.

Good luck tomorrow! you WILL be fine==you will!

Auto , I have been thinking of you, I m still in hospital, so glad to hear u r home and everything went well. I m hoping to be home by tomorrow night, I m in A LOT of pain and yes getting up n down to pee is making it worse. I have to say the pain is not as bad as last night this time. We made it to the other side.

Re: I am a mess: surgery 5/31

They wouldn't let me leave without peeing walking and tooting. Lol I had worried myself before surgery but the day of it I got a strange calm. I hope the same for you. The gas pains were my worst pains but once you get through those it's one day at a time. Just keep your pain medicine on schedule and do not wait to treat pain or gas, keep it going on schedule is my best advice.
