1 month away and freaking out!!!!

My surgery is scheduled for April 30. I just wish it was over already. I am very happy that I found my "sisters" I am very aware off what will happen now NOTHING left to the imagination haha. Worried that because of complications could end up with one big incision any one out there had a scheduled DVH and end up with full abdominal?

Re: 1 month away and freaking out!!!!

I just had DVH on Tuesday (March 27) and my doctor had told me I had less than a 3% chance of the surgery being converted to abdominal. Did your doctor give you information on how likely yours is to be converted? Mine was planned and done as DVH and it really wasn't bad at all--the most stressful part was worrying and waiting and doing the bowel prep! It all got easier from there! I wish you all the best!!

Re: 1 month away and freaking out!!!!

Thanks that is reassuring. I did not get an idea of percentage chance I just can't stop thinking it may happen. Just nerves. I hear all the good stories about DVH just want to be on post-op already.

Re: 1 month away and freaking out!!!!

I had dVH on 3/7. Gigantic fibroids! My regular OB told me there was no way I'd be a candidate for dVH. The surgeon said not a problem. My surgery was longer (about 4 hours) but they did it!

It's normal to worry. The hardest part is the waiting. Hang in there...you'll be post-op in no time.
