Back to work...PANTS?

help!!!!!

I've gotten so used to wearing pajama bottoms anything else hurts! Anything with a zipper is painful. I'm already heavy set and this swelly belly isn't making it any better. I work as an onsite at another company and they don't even let pregnant women wear stretchier clothing. So what do I do when I return to work??? Any suggestions?

Re: Back to work...PANTS?????

I read another post where someone suggested maternity pants so there would be more "give"...no one would even know. My TVH was on the 13th...I too live in pj pants or running pants

Re: Back to work...PANTS?????

what about pants with no zippers, I am also heavy set and there are some pants out there that are part lycra and part cloth so it may help, or a size larger. Is it the fact they dont allow sweats and yoga pants that they feel if they allow stretchty pants. Or you can get maternity pants with just the stretchy belly piece...or you can get an insert to make your regular pants into maternity pants

Good luck with the search

Re: Back to work...PANTS?????

When I went back to work I bought some nice looking yoga pants to wear with a longer top. Also bought some dressier type sweat pants. Maternity pants are a great idea as well!

Back to work...PANTS?

Thank you ladies. Yes they won't allow any type of stretch, yoga or sweat pant. Its business casual or jeans. Maternity pants might be the best solution for me. That's a great idea.

Re: Back to work...PANTS?????

How about post maternity undies? I bought several pairs for when I came home from the hospital after my hysterectomy and they held me in nicely. I was able to fit into my jeans wearing them. I haven't worn them in a few weeks except for in the morning during my exercise. I just feel like I still need that extra support for exercise. I bought mine at Pea in the Pod, they're really comfy, about $12 per pair. Kind of like Spanx, but not tight at all, super comfy. I also like that you can use them later if you fold the wide waist band down, (kind of like yoga pants,) so it's not a waste of money now.

Re: Back to work...PANTS?????

I, too, am worried about this. I am a bigger girl, and just tried on a jean skirt that I wear to work all the time. Before the surgery, the skirt was a bit large on me... so I was hoping it would fit. When I pulled the thing on, not only was it TIGHT, but it HURT!! UUgghhh.... so not cool!! I couldn't even bring myself to try on anything else.

To me, the worst part is that when I put on any of my stretchy clothes that do fit, my (already bigger than average... lol) belly is HUGE looking. I actually said to DH... "I never thought I would say this, but I want my old body back. Swelling on top of "fluff" is just not acceptable."

As soon as I get permission from the doctor, I'm hitting the gym. This is just crazy!! Hahahaha...

Thank you. I'll have to look into that.

I'm so feeling you! Swelly belly sucks!!!! I would swell regularly before so im a little used to it. But I would squeeze into things and just deal with it on those days. I can't do that now because of the pain but also this swelly belly is soooo much bigger!!!!

Re: Back to work...PANTS?????

Don't laugh, but I bought a belly band thing that is sold in the maternity area that pregnant women wear. You wear your normal pants and you don't zip them, it goes over the top of them and "holds them up". LOL

I went to the Salvation Army store and Goodwill and bought elastic waist skirts. Can you wear dressy skirts? I found several of them in different colors for only a few dollars a piece. I also got some dress pants in a larger size for a couple bucks too.
