Re: Increased libido

I am almost 6 weeks post op and in the same boat. Have been since the first week. I have heard that fluctuations in hormones, even if you kept your ovaries, can cause this. I was thinking it would be dying down already, but it is not and driving me crazy!

Re: Increased libido

I am only 4 days post op and have felt the beginnings of this, too. I thought maybe it's cause those parts are all swollen and sensitive already? I was hoping it would die down for awhile, I wasn't really expecting my recovery to include 6-8 weeks of low level horniness.

Re: Increased libido

I am the same but I was thinking that my body wants it just because it can't have it! I always crave the stuff I'm not supposed to have...carbs, salt, sex! hahaha Landa, my hubby is praying that it lasts as well!

Re: Increased libido

Oh, wow, thank God I looked here - I was feeling like I'm going insane. I had a daVinci hysterectomy in September of last year and had no sexual feelings at all between then and yesterday, which was just fine with me, considering I'm a widow and not seeing anyone at the moment. But yesterday suddenly I felt, well, um... interested. And now it's been two days of feeling interested constantly. And googling has just scared me to death, because I've found things about women who end up aroused constantly, permanently, for years... so please, someone, tell me this is just some hormonal fluctuation thing and it's going to go away soon! I still have my ovaries, but I'm 49 and menopause is probably on its way anyway.

Yikes.

Re: Increased libido

This seems to be a very common experience. During my recovery, the gals in my recovery week were all going through the same thing, myself included. I am pleased to say that while it did settle down to a reasonable interest, and not raging all the time, I am still quite interested in being with dh. Our sex life is better than ever! :-)

Re: Increased libido

I wouldn't mind a nice healthy libido (mine has been fairly dormant for years, due I think to thyroid problems, although my husband was very patient and talented, I must say, at overcoming the problem!), but this right now is no fun at all! So I'm glad to hear it settles down. Soon, I hope. (And thank God for this site: I don't know who else I could talk to about this without dying of embarrassment.)
