Feeling 100%

I just want to start off by saying that I am so sorry for all the ladies that are having a hard recovery. I hope my post doesn't make you feel even worse

I am about 4 weeks out (March 9), and I am feeling 100%. Truth be told, I have been feeling this great from almost the beginning. I had a bit of bleeding that seemed to last longer then I thought and the gas pains a few days post op were terrible but to be honest, I have had zero problems with my incisions, zero problems with going to the bathroom, zero problems at all really. I feel just as strong and able as I did before the surgery. 2 weeks post op, I was carrying patio tables down from my attic... I joke with my husband that the doctor just poked around in there and didn't actually remove anything because I just can't understand how my quick recovery is possible.

I am posting this because I keep getting emails from Hystersisters, automated ones about my recovery and how I should still be taking it easy and napping a lot... how some women are still unable to lift, etc... I realize that some of my great recovery has to do with the laproscopic aspect of my surgery but is anyone else doing this well?

I don't want to over due it by taking on too much and doing damage but I have been on all day shopping trips... I have been lifting my 30 pound son from week 1 and cleaning the house, heavy lifting etc.. I just don't feel like I have had surgery.

ETA: Didn't even fill my prescription for pain meds upon discharge from hospital. Zero tylenol or any pills of any kind.

Re: Feeling 100%

I only have been tired - no pain really or problems other than that. I would be careful though, you could be causing some internal damage and not know it - I had so much scar tissue removed during my procedure from my cecerean - I too felt great and lifted children, did house work etc.....but the scar tissue told the story. I would carry on - but watch the lifting still.

Re: Feeling 100%

I have to agree.........besides the lifting part, which i haven't done at all. I had my surgery on Feb. 29 and besides the first week, it has been awesome. I feel great, I never took any pain medication after I left the hospital...the first bowel movement wasn`t fun but after that it was fine. No more pain from fibriods..no more heavy periods to keep me up at night........life is good!!

Re: Feeling 100%

I have had a great recovery also. I will be 4 weeks post op on Wednesday, this week. I have a 20 pound grandson that I have not dared to lift. I have someone else set him on my lap and if he gets moving around, I can feel it inside. I do get sore sometimes, but I think what I am feeling is healing going on. If I get tired at all I rest, reading or watching t.v. If I nap in the day I have a harder time sleeping at night.

Re: Feeling 100%

I feel I'm doing well even though I'm labeled a slow healer. I think I've just had a normal healing process. I take it very easy as I do not want to risk doing anything that I will regret. Haven't taken pain pills in a while, body functions are good and I've continued to lose a bit of weight, slowly.

Continue to feel great to all that do, but take it easy. Happier healing to those who have had challenges.

Re: Feeling 100%

I'm 4 weeks out tomorrow, and apart from one week where I did pull a stitch, I too am feeling great , which some days does make it hard not too do too much, I had a TVH and because I really havnt had any pain and havnt taken pain meds since the first week, some days I do get tired, but dont really sleep through the day,

I thought the same thing, maybe the dr just had a feel around and didnt really do anything...lol

wishin everyone a speedy recovery
