Keeping cervix. Is healing faster?

I am scheduled to have a lapro hysterec with removal of ovaries and tubes. Doc said he was going to keep my cervix. Seems a lot of the healing time and waiting to resume activities that I am reading is because of the cuff needing to heal. Since I am keeping my cervix, does that mean I wont have a cuff and therefore have quicker resume times? Thanks a bunch.

Re: Keeping cervix. Is healing faster?

Keeping your cervix DOES mean you won't have a cuff, but that doesnt necessarily mean quicker healing time. There is still a lot of internal healing that takes some time. Just make sure you ask your and that they are clear on what your restrictions are. The cuff is definitely not the only thing that can cause complications.

in your surgery and recovery!!
