Got my marching orders aka pre-op visit

I saw my doctor and got my labs done today for my scheduled surgery on 4-11. Even today I was questioning if I should do this especially since I have bleed very little this past month. But the doctor told me that it was for the best so I gave him a hug. I really needed that reassurance from someone in the medical field. True, it's still my decision but I just needed to hear it again.

While others have mentioned having to do the full bowel treatment all I have for those orders is no food or drink after midnight. (My surgery is scheduled for 7:30 am.) Hurrah, I don't have to deal with the flushing of the system. I do have to take a shower with some special soap the night before and that morning. That and leave the jewelry at home and that was pretty much it. Easy enough! (Except for the 5:15 am admission time. But then who sleeps much the night before, anyway?)

No nervous feelings yet. I'm not even stocking up on food and deep cleaning like so many seem to do. I'll get all the laundry caught up and the floors vacuumed on the day before but other than that I'm not planning on doing much else. I'm going to let my husband take care of me and the house and our 25 yr old special needs son. I might even have him change the sheets on our bed the day I come home unless I get that done the day before.

trico80,

Looks like you have things under control and a great attitude.
Congrats on no bowl prep, that is a plus in my book. It almost makes up for the 5:15 admission time.
