Re: 35 hours post op...Update: 3 days and a bit of a setback

I did too much today. My son woke up with a high fever and I had to take him to the doctor an hour and a half away. My sister did th driving since my husband was working, but I am still exhausted. I am not hurting, though I wouldn't be surprised if I end up hurting later today, I am just exhausted. Will be home in an hour and then I am getting my butt back in bed. Glad to hear you are doing better. Will let you know how I feel later.

Doc said he might have whooping cough. Ran some tests and will know more on Friday.

I hope everything turns out ok. I'm glad that you are resting! It's hard when things come up that force us to do more than we should. But as long as you are giving your body the time to recoup. Glad you are healing well!

Is whooping cough something you can catch? Just wondering because you really are not going to like it if you start coughing!! Glad your resting!

Yep, Whooping cough is HIGHLY contagious. The doctor said that it is the worst they have seen an outbreak in years given that more than 90% of the people who are getting it have been vaccinated for it. My lungs feel junky this morning. Very heavy like they are filling with fluid. This is so not what I need.

Can you nip this in the bud and get yourself to the Dr? I had tvh like you but a few days before you. I am concerned that if you start coughing uncontrollably you will tear something.

Please try to get your lungs checked before it gets bad. Better safe than sorry. A good nap will fix the tiredness you will feel from dragging yourself to dr. But it will set you all the way back if you tear something.

Let us know how your doing!

Re: 35 hours post op...Update: 3 days and a bit of a setback

I am using inhalers and taking cough medicine preemptively in the hopes that I can control it before it begins. I have my pillow handy and I am doing my best to only cough shallowly. Is that even a word? I coughed pretty good about 10 minutes ago and it felt like I was being punched in my girly parts. It was not pleasant. At all. The good thing about the percocet I am on is that it is a cough suppressant so that should help too.

Re: 35 hours post op...Update: 3 days and a bit of a setback

I just looked it up. It says you can be coughing violently for 6 weeks and it's highly contagious. It's treated with antibiotics. The cough medicine isn't going to kill it because it is a bacterial infection. Can you maybe call your doctor, or your sons doctor and see if they will give you antibiotics before your symptoms are worse? Coughing fits are going to tear you up. better safe than sorry, seriously, you poor thing!
