When was your first time out of house?

I had my LAVH on Mar 29th. Kept both ovaries.

I haven't left the house yet. Sunday going over to my inlaws for Easter dinner. On Monday, I am going to go into work for just a bit to get a few things done. I know, I know, it's way too soon, but I have to get a few things done.

When was everyone's first time out of house??

Re: When was your first time out of house?

I am only three days post-op and haven't left the house yet. I don't even feel the need yet. But then, I'm a homebody through and through!

I hope Easter dinner goes well for you!

Re: When was your first time out of house?

I had my surgery the day before you and the only time I have gone out was on Tuesday for my post op appointment. I am not planning anything else until Monday, when I have an appointment with my pain management physician.
Be sure you don't act TOO happy when you go into work or they will think you are well enough to come back!

Re: When was your first time out of house?

I went for a walk and took a taxi to the shops day 6 and 7 now it is day 8 and 9 and I am WIPED making soup and toast is an ordeal. I regret it
I had no one to help and needed pads and a skirt to cover my catheter.. and it was necesary but probably not wise..

Re: When was your first time out of house?

My first day out of the house was 7 days postop when I had to go into the doctors office to get staples removed.

Re: When was your first time out of house?

My post op appt is not until the 16th.

I don't have staples and don't have a catheter. I am going to be extremely careful and try not to overdue it.

Thanks for all the responses!

Re: When was your first time out of house?

4 days post-op to get staples out was my first time out. I was released 36 hours post-op after TAH with removal of L tube/ovary. Tell you what - THAT was a miserable trip across town

Next time out was 2 weeks post-op yesterday. Much better

I've been out walking all over the block this whole time, too. Since day 3 post-op. I've been released to drive, but am kind of nervous with all the pain off and on. Maybe next week I'll give driving a go.

Re: When was your first time out of house?

I went out 5 days post-op and it was okay. I was at my kids' school for about 45 minutes. I came back and crashed on the couch for about 3 hours.

We went out to lunch today and I felt okay. I was really tired when I came back, so I just laid down and took it easy.

Re: When was your first time out of house?

I had a minimally invasive hysterectomy (da vinci) on 3/30. I was discharged the same day as my surgery. I ventured out briefly on day 3 and was so tired from that 20 min trip, I slept all day. I went out again on day 6 (1st post op appt & grocery shopping). I felt okay and was out and about for 2 hrs. Tiday, I'm dead tired! My energy and stamina levels vary so much day to day. I'm trying to listen to my body and not overdo it.

Re: When was your first time out of house?

I had a LSH (laproscopic supracervical hysterectomy) on the 27th. I stayed overnight and got out Wednesday morning. I went with my husband on Thursday to get out son from preschool then slept the rest of the day. Then I drove to speech therapy on Wednesday the 4th. While I wasn't too tired, I was super uncomfortable and couldn't wait to get home and put on my comfy pants. Today, on day 11 I went to Target to pick some stuff up. It went much better for me.
Since my surgery was minimally invasive, my dr told me I could drive as long as I was off pain pills. I quit those on day 4, because they made me nauseous.
Listen to your body, it will tell you when to stop.
