Restless Leg Syndrome and stair queston

Surgery is scheduled for this Thursday. I have severe RLS and always fear the worst with anesthesia. I also spend a lot of time walking and standing due to the RLS and wonder how in the world that is going to be possible!! Any body else out there had a TH that suffers from RLS? Also, wondering how soon I'll be able to easily go up and down stairs--all my art stuff is downstairs. Wondering how much I need to move up!

Re: RLS question and stair queston

Hi Zendoodle

I wish I could answer your question, but I cannot. I am hoping that someone with similar experience will see this post and chime in.

Have you told your doctor about your RLS? This is information they probably should have.

Good luck to you

Re: RLS question and stair queston

Yes, I have reported this to my doctor. Mostly he is aware of my anesthesiology concerns--not my concerns about recovery and RLS. I am sure I will have opportunity to visit with him on the day of surgery, but was hoping to hear from someone here who has personal experience with this issue. I find it hard to believe that I am the only person on this forum who is having or has had a hysterectomy that also suffers from RLS. Any responses will be greatly appreciated. Time is growing short!!

Still hoping someone out there with RLS can respond to this question. Time is growing short. I am anxious about several things, but most of all about how I will deal with the RLS while I am recovering and can't be on my feet for long!

Thanks!

Zendoodle

Let me try and send a report to the other hostesses out there. One of these wise women may know something...

Re: RLS question and stair queston

((Zendoodle))

I don't have any experience with RLS I'm afraid but, hopefully, we can find some threads for you to check out whilst you're waiting for replies.

Have you tried a site search? The best way to do this is to use the "search" tab in the purple bar, towards the top of the page. It's important to "go advanced" and then enter "restless leg syndrome" in the box and "search titles only". (RLS won't work since it's too short).

When I tried that, I found pages of results ~ both pre- and post-op ~ and so I hope it helps to know you're not alone. Obivously, I can't link them all but here are two random long threads (one from each forum) to start you off:

Pre-Op Forum: https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/sho...d.php?t=221769
Post-Op Forum: https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/sho...d.php?t=430424

I've amended your thread title to the full condition name to, hopefully, attract the attention of the "right" ladies, plus it will now show up if anyone else tries a search on the topic.

Hope this helps and I'm sending positive thoughts for your surgery and recovery!
