Hi ABby!! both of those will depend on your doctor's orders. I have seen that it can vary on the hospital stay. Vary on how you recover, etc. I have a friend who went home same day, but I am having a lap. assisted vaginal and they told me one-two days stay depending.

You should be told all of that at your pre-op. If they do not, then feel free to ask. I have a list for my doctor and the hospital,

Re: Upcoming Surgery 4/10

The bowel cleanse wasn't horrible at all I found. Actually, i felt nice and clean when I went into surgery. And it was good to not have to contend with needing to go number two after the surgery for a while. As for the pain, it's not as horrible as you fear. If you've had a painful period, I found it less painful than that for sure. I've had periods that had me doubled over in pain crying. Not once has that happened during my TAH recovery. It feels more like you pulled a muscle playing tennis than anything. And in the hospital, they have wonderful painkiller where you don't even feel the pulled muscle pain. You will do great!
