heavy bleeding post op 4-5 weeks

at exactly 4 weeks post-op started passing large (plum) sized clots and then gushing of blood. Went via ambulance to ER past small plate sized clot and then bleeding slowed and stopped. Small amounts of blood (spotting really) whenever I wiped after using the bathroom continued. Gyno/sugeron cauterized 2 places on Tues. and then one on Friday. Last night at 5 weeks 5 days another large clot/bleeding/ ER visit. Blood slowing to a trickle and now back to spotting when wiping. Doctors haven't given me any reasons. Other than possible "degredation" But come on already enough of the bleeding.

Anyone else experience this?
Dr says that the stitches haven't even started to dissolve yet and put me on restriction for another 4 weeks. That will be 9 1/2 weeks post op. Ideas anyone???

Re: heavy bleeding post op 4-5 weeks

This sometimes happens. Everyone heals at their own pace and it sounds that you might be healing a tad slower than others. Keep eating well so that your body has the fuel to repair itself. I hope you are over this rough patch soon.

Re: heavy bleeding post op 4-5 weeks

I had the exact same thing happen to me! I was sitting at my computer and the next thing I knew It felt like as if my period was going to start so I slowly got up to go to the bathroom and then a massive goosh down my legs with blood! I got to the bathroom to pass a massive clot! I went to my family doctor as its hard to get into my gynie, and he said nothings wrong go home and if it happens again come back. So I couldnt help with answers but would like to know why it keeps happening too. I have had so many problems but unfortunetly have an *** for a gynie and a doctor that has no clue!

Re: heavy bleeding post op 4-5 weeks

Cheer, i feel same way...my doc is really nice, good doc,,,but ime not sure about his full understanding of all the weird stuff that having a hyster does to a women as if seen him couple times now and he just keeps saying all that ime going through is normal and part of the healing process,,and it probably is, but i really think something is not right with in my lower left abdomen...and the gyno who did my surgery is away until May 9, so havent seen her every since she did my hyster...I have appt with my GP Doc today and he is going to check me out further and do a swab test,,so will see what he says about the bleeding and odor...Peace be with you
