The big H is tomorrow... :/

Hi ladies,
Honestly, can anyone say they had a great sleep the night before their surgery??
I can't sleep!!
I'm not scared, not panicking, but I am slightly worried about any complications arising..
And after having 3 c sections.. I kinda know what I might be in for pain/ discomfort wise after surgery... I'm certainly not looking forward to that!!
But, yes.. I know.. Eventually after I've healed, all will be great!
How did you girls deal with your last night pre op??

Re: The big H is tomorrow... :/

Good luck tomorrow! I had my surgery April 4.I didn't sleep much the last few days before surgery. ( not for lack of trying). I'd lay in bed awake and think about all the things I still might need to do to get ready and prepare my house for recovery. Now that I am home I can certainly say it wasn't wasted time. I had the house so clean, enough shopping done to survive a months long natural disaster, rearranged my cupboard, drawers and cabinets so everything was withing post op reach. It was all worth it. It has made my recovery much easier. You have several weeks to sleep all you want, so if you don't sleep tonight you'll be ok!!

Re: The big H is tomorrow... :/

The night before surgery, I spent time with DH, and tried to relax. We watched brainless TV, kept it light. I also made sure all was packed so I could just grab it and go in the am.

Good luck to you.

We will be waiting for you on the other side.

Re: The big H is tomorrow... :/

I am having trouble sleeping also. The funny thing is that for the last 3.5 years I have been on a graveyard schedule and on my nights off for the life of me could not stay awake. Even if I had slept all day. Now that I can live on the normal schedule I have dreamed about I am up all night. I am not as nervous as I was earlier today. I am mainly worried about complications arising. I am very much looking forward to being past this and getting on with my life.
