Re: new and nervous (heart condition and surgery)

Thanks Cathb911. I bet your so relieved to get the op out of the way. The support on here has been excellent and I have found it really helpful. It certainly calms me for a few hours at least so I can get some peace of mind and when I start to struggle, I just log back on for some more words of support which does tend to calm me. I get a bit confused as I hear that they give you blood thining medication anyway to avoid clots so I would have thought that asprin wouldhave helped this?

Re: new and nervous (heart condition and surgery)

I don't know anything about the blood thinning meds, but you'll find your answers. I couldn't have made it through this whole ordeal without this website and the support. There is so much more to knpw than just the brief things your doctor tells you.The support from the sisters is great. I love how even years after surgery some log on to give us hope and advice. his website and the sisters validate us and our feelings which is invaluable. Without validation we start to think we are nuts or not as sick as we are!!
