Re: Cervix removal

I had TAH and opted to remove my cervix.

Nothing has changed. I don't feel any different. Sex is the same.

I am what, 8 months post op? I will say, I didn't have sex until the 6 month mark just because I was scared and didn't want to take any chances of damaging anything.

Since I waited so long and I've only been having sex for 2 months, I am still a little tender at the cuff area but that will ease with time. lol, nothing was going in there until I was sure things were healed !

Re: Cervix removal

Almost 2 years post op here. Everything removed including cervix. Have been having sex since the 6week mark when I was given the green light by my doc. Dh and I have a very vigorous and regular sex life and all is well. He says he can not tell any difference, other than the fact that I enjoy sex now! Life is good and the sex is great!

Thank you...this is very encouraging! I have so many fibroids they only measure the biggest 4. The biggest mesures about 5" accross. My uterus is the size of 20 week pregnancy. Back in 2008 (when I only had 1 fibroid) I had a UAE and that decreased my systems greatly. My systems are bad but not near as bad as they were back in 2008. I really cannot wait to kick out all of the uninvited guest from my uterus. Wishing you continued healing.

Re: Cervix removal

I am i days post op and opted to have my cervix removed. I had uterine fibroids that were not relieved from an ablation I had in 2010. It went from 12wk fetus size to 15 week fetus size in 8 months. I was able to keep my ovaries as they looked healthy. I do not want the miniperiods that I've heard about when you keep your cervix cause since I have to go through this I might as well get some benefit!! I haven't had sex yet so not sure what that will be like but I'm keeping my finger's crossed. Good Luck!!
