Granulation question

I saw my doctor today. I still have pain, some bleeding, and discomfort. He said my vaginal cuff looks okay. But, he said I had granulation. He didn't treat it. I couldn't remember to ask him about the silver nitrate. Should I go back, or see another doctor? Or, should I wait to see if it doesn't get better?

Thanks.

Re: Granulation question

Caeryn -

There are several different types of granulation. I had granulation but I didn't have silver nitrate they clipped it.

My personal experience would say "call the Dr and ask about what they intend to do about it"

Re: Granulation question

At the time, he didn't say anything about treating it. I can call the office and ask.

He didn't say what type of granulation I had. What are the different types?

Re: Granulation question

I have understood there is more than one treatment depending on how things are healing. One is where things aren't quite healing you get the bleeding and they treat with the silver nitrate. Mine was more "fibrous" so the snipped it instead.

Re: Granulation question

He didn't seem that worried about it. I was worried it was something serious. If I still have bleeding, I'll call the office.

Re: Granulation question

The vaginal cuff is at the top of your vagina where your cervix used to be (removed for vaginal hysts) They sew you up a bit like a sock

Re: Granulation question

Oh dear Lord!! I don't see my dr until May 2. I'm not bleeding or even spotting. I had my husband help apply the vaginal antibiotic creme that I had to start using yesterday. Dr says it helps the vagina heal and helps keep the tissue soft. Have to say that after the application (gently applied with sterile glove) that I cramped just little. Husband says I have a Ton of stitches there. Ugh. Guess those pains I'm feeling are justified.
