Re: What to expect before and after??

F.O.N,

I know I have 6 weeks but I have already put all my worries with my Children at ease. Looks like I'm going to have help after all! Hubbys work is being beyond sympathetic and helpful. We'll take it one day at a time until I feel okay enough to care for her. If he has to go into work he already said he'd make sure her lunch was ready and in a baggy for her. So she'll be able to get it out of the fridge for herself. And she drinks bottled water so that also she can get herself. I'm hoping it'll be nice out so I can just sit on the deck while she plays on the playset in the backyard!

Thank you so much for the heads up

Re: What to expect before and after??

hlaoroo,

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I to have a bloodclotting disorder and take asprin daily! Not anything as serious as you have but I can say I can't ever have any type of Hormones or replacement. That is the ONLY reason why my Dr. is keeping my overies!

Sounds like you're doing pretty well and I couldn't be more happy for you Reading so many stories is helping me more and more. I haven't yet read or heard anything bad about the Da Vinci so that of course takes away a lot of my fears! My biggest worry now is just having to have a catheter, lol. I had one put in back in '06 bc I had an ectopic pregnancy. They for some reason had to take it out and put it back in 3 different times because they couldn't get it to my bladder? I was in so much pain I requested it be taken out and I left the hospital. I had surgery the next day after finding that the baby was 8 weeks along, my tube had ruptured and I had blood up to my chest. It was an emergency surgery. I saw the baby on ultrasound along with it's little heartbeating I still have a rough time over it!

Anyways, this will be my 4 surgery in only 2 years. One of those being last may. I had the Novasure done in hopes that my problems would be fixed but obviously that is NOT the case! I'm here today and am counting down for the Big day, lol.

Thank you again and I wish you the very best with your recovery! K.I.T please.

Re: What to expect before and after??

Thank you for your wishes. Recovery is more rapid than I had anticipated. I am still not 100% and don't expect to be for awhile but just a few short days ago I couldn't shower on my own and needed help getting up and down off the toilet. Now I can pretty much do everything on my own, it just takes me a little longer.

Remember to take it easy. No lifting or exertion. Just stay comfortable. As one friend told me, you only have one chance to heal. I am not a candidate for hormone therapy either so I am glad I got to keep my ovaries. So far I don't feel any different emotionally than I did prior.

Good luck with your surgery and please feel free to ask any questions. I will answer anything I can.
