Is connection between early hysterectomy and kidney cancer true?

I have heard that women who have TAH with removal of ovaries before age of 44 are twice as likely to get kidney cancer, and have a friend who has been diagnosed with kidney cancer 4 years after TAH!
Has anyone heard this?

I have not heard this, and my surgeon is a Uro-Gynecologist. I have lots of bladder issues, so i am sure he would have told me about the possibility of kidney cancer. What is the connection between the two?

Do you have reputable links you could share with us?

I am guessing that if there is a connection, the issue is more related to the oophorectomy along with the hysterectomy and thus possibly a hormonal concern.

Here is one study I found which states, "Women who had ever undergone hysterectomy, oophorectomy, or combined hysterectomy and oophorectomy had a higher risk of RCC than women who did not undergo gynecologic surgery in several case-control studies (6–8) but not in a prospective study (9)."

Have you talked to your doctor about your question?

Thanks for that. I had a read through it but it's a bit jargony for me
I am going to have a chat with my doctor about it. Apparantly it's something about something released by the ovaries protects the kidneys and if you have TAH with Ooperectomy then you're more at risk (even if on HRT).
Anyone, was just an open question anyway in case anyone else had heard about or experienced this
