Re: Adenomyosis and contraction type pains

I'm right there with you on the labour-type pains and contractions...plus cramping, stabbing pains and a mess of other things. And no pain killers seem to be able to eliminate them, though some will occasionally dull. I have my surgery next week, and although scared am just looking forward to living life again at something like what I think normal should be. Stay positive. Good luck with the coming weeks. Adenomyosis is a terrible disease. But the knowledge that we are not alone in our journey through this bad patch is some comfort, and this site, along with the great tips and sharing of stories, is certainly a blessing.

Re: Adenomyosis and contraction type pains

I have been feeling the same as you this past week. The pain just gets worse daily and even worse if I am up moving around. Dr thinks that I have adenomyosis (I actually asked her if that was possible and she was shocked I knew what it was and told me all my symptoms fit). My hysterectomy is June 4th and boy am I looking forward to it. My husband has his work on standby every day on the fact that he may have to call in one night so he can help out around here with the kids and house if I am in way too much pain. What else is frustrating is the fact that I went on a diet through weight watchers and lost 15lbs yet still fit in the same clothing thanks to the enlarged uterus and at night the pressure, pain and bloating is so bad that I look about 6 months pregnant. I am trying to hold off on asking for pain meds but not sure I can last much longer.

I know how you feel that's what I felt like all the time and no pain killers would work, I had TAH and BSO 14th feb and it was the best thing I ever done.
