Re: not sleeping

Sigh - almost slept all night. Glad to read you are in a good place and dealing well. Going to the couch so I don't wake my husband. As my friend the yoga instructor says - namaste. The spirit in me respects the spirit in you.

Re: not sleeping

Good luck to both of you today.....I didn't have problems sleeping until the night before my surgery. Unfortunately I joined many others that have been cursed with insomnia afterwards. So here I am typing away when my alarm will be going off in a little over an hour. Luckily I can climb back into my recliner after everybody has left for school.

Wishing you both a speedy recovery!

Re: not sleeping

You ladies are too funny.....I was trying to explain to my girls last week when they came to see me a few hours after surgery that " passing gas" is a big deal in the hospital! They heard the nurse ask me if I had passed gas yet and I said " no, but I would let her know if I had any luck". They also thought that it was neat how you could push the NURSE button on the bed or remote and talk to her. Well....they put both of those things together ( me letting the nurse know and the NURSE call button) and thought for some reason that I was supposed to " let her know" by doing it into the NURSE button. Needless to say it was hilarious and the last thing that I wanted to or needed to to was to burst out laughing. Gotta love how those little minds work!

Re: not sleeping

Jennifer1974 - tee, hee! thanks for that cute story. I'll have to tell my husband about your girls - he'll get a laugh out of it, too! I bet your little ones have really helped keep your spirits up since surgery.

Re: not sleeping

That's hilarious Jennifer! I'm posting from my hospital bed right now and everything went well. I'm pretty stoned right now, but sometime soon I'm going to post my story on the post-op side.

Re: not sleeping

Prayers to you and good luck ! ( And what is this about magnesium citrate? Is it something I will have to take before surgery?)

Re: not sleeping

Thanks ladies! Just got out of bed and did a few laps around the wing, as I'm starting to get gas pain. It definitely helps! 8 hours post op so I'm proud of myself! I still do have a cramping kind of pain, but I'm keeping on top of it. I feel absolutely nothing from the incisions.

Rochelle, ask your doctor about bowel prep. Not everyone has to do it so hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones.

Jennifer, nurse just told me to let her know when I pass gas. I started laughing and had to share your story. She of course thought it was hilarious.
