Date Set

Well it is official. My abdominal hysterectomy date is set for June 4th, 2012 at 7:30 in the morning. Hopefully I will get my iron up by then. Now the anxiety is setting in but so ready to have it done and be over with so I can FINALLY feel better. So tired of being in pain that just slowly gets worse and tired of the enlarged uterus. Lost 15lbs after dieting and yet still fit in the same size clothing I was in before the diet.

Re: Date Set

Thank you. I would have it sooner and believe me with how I feel right now I wish it was sooner but prefer the kids to be out of school for the summer first.

Re: Date Set

I had to wait a few months after I found out I needed a hyst to do mine too. I had to wait for my husband to laid off so he could care for our special needs son since I couldn't drive nor dress myself for a few weeks afterward. My anxiety grew as the date got closer but I also like you had an enlarged uterus (and cervical cancer, severe endo and scar tissue) and was looking very much forward to no longer being in pain. I lost weight before my surgery but still fit into my clothes due to the swelling. Long story short.... I am very pleased after having my surgery. The swelling after it freaked me out but it did go away and I was finally pain free! I do not regret having it and was able to live a better quality of life. The pain after having it is nothing compared to the pain you have endured in the time this began for you. Best wishes to you and your family especially in your recovery.
