Re: Had my Pre-OP this morning...

Hi, I am new to Hyster. I am scheduled for my LSH on May 4th. I just had my pre-op 2 days ago. My doctor also did an endometrial biopsy in his office with no anesthesia the same day-- It was so awful. Had blood work done as well and was white as a sheet after all was done. The surgery was scheduled the same day and its 2 weeks away! This is all surreal! I can't even process how fast it's all moving! I am scared to death! I can't wait until it's over.

Re: Had my Pre-OP this morning...

Hi Evanthia1 - it is all a bit overwhelming in patches isn't it? What are you having the hysterectomy for? Hope you are feeling ok and clear about it all. Its really ok (in fact, often necessary and encouraged) to ask loads of questions of your health care providers and also to get second opinions if you are in any doubt at all about what is happening. I got a second opinion from another gyne with a great reputation and not only did he assure me that the team I am having my procedure with are wonderful, but also went over all the realities of my condition (adenomyosis, endo, etc) and how we have attempted to treat and manage it so far (without success for the adeno) and concluded with me that this was the best option. I felt so much clearer for it and go into the operation with a sense that this is in my control too. Be strong. Ask loads of questions. Hope you are well.

Re: Had my Pre-OP this morning...

My pre op is scheduled for next Friday (April 27th) I will not have to do any bowl cleansing as she hasn't (my gyno/oncologist) it necessary. She told me just make sure I wasn't constipated and to take care of that a couple of days before surgery.
Good luck to all of you!
