Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

Im about 5 months pregnant, if you add my 13 cm uterus and 2 fibroids (8cm & 5cm) !!! I have the belly to show for it and its no fun... Im only 5'1 and my uterus is also past my belly botton and I think thats why Ive been having a hard time catching my breath....I can no longer suck my stomach in since the bulge is really high, I can actually rest my hand on it like i did when I was pregnant...

My complaints consist of heavy cycles, frequent urination, and fatigue...My surgery is set for April 30th!! Getting vervous..Good luck to you!

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

Hi eveeryone, i am right there too. I have an enlarged uterus and suspected adenomyosis. I feel bloated and malformed. My stomach above belly button is huge. I know that i need to lose some weight but this just seems so extreme. I also am tired, have pain and pressure and then "normal" days. I have scheduled surgery for May 22. Not looking forward to the recovery but will be so glad to have it all over and feel better. I also think that it has made my GERD symptoms worse. Either that or maybe I am developing an ulcer. Can't wait to have it done and get on with life.

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

Well, rats i have a belly below my belly button. I was hoping it was my uterus or something and not b\c i gained weight by eating too much. LOL i'm hoping the belly will go down a little after the hysterectomy. It seemed to get large pretty quickly. My fibroids are the size of golf balls.

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

My uterus is the size of a 4 month pregnancy. Sorry if this is TMI, but at my last visit the doctor had me press on my lower abdomen on the left...it is firm, then on the right, it is more pliable, and then he had me press again while he was doing the internal exam...I could definitely feel it through my abdominal wall and should not be able to.

I also have a large cyst on my left ovary, so even with losing weight my pants are extremely tight...I live mostly in work out pants as of late!

He indicated in our last call that it was not surprising and that my abdomen has also began to retain fluid, so likely I should see a huge difference after surgery. I have a large bulge from pelvic up to bottom of my bra...so with snug pants I always have muffin top!

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

I sympathize with all of you! I spend over an hour at urgent care yesterday because I've been feeling so bad all week and yesterday I had sharp pains in both sides of my stomach, along with having to pee constantly. I wanted to rule out a UTI and the results were negative which leads me to believe that all my symptoms are related to my uterus.

Here's my question/problem. I can't get in to see the gyno specialist until May 7th and I honestly don't know how I can manage until then. What can I do to get an earlier appointment? I realize the obvious answer is to call and ask, which is what I intend to do when they open this morning. I've spoken to the receptionist before and she isn't very sympathetic and her attitude is more like, "it is what it is" so I am hesitant to contact them. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Edit: Also, how long did you have to wait for your initial consultation prior to scheduling surgery AND how long after that appt was your surgery scheduled? If I am looking at 2 months, I don't see how I can make it that long since my problems with my uterus seem to be increasing. 4 months ago I had no idea that anything was wrong and now I am in pain and uncomfortable all the time.

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

Hi....my symptoms came on strong and fast last November. They originally thought it was all GI related but now the doctors think its adenmyosis. I had to wait 3 months to see the Gyno but I am Canada and wait times are really long for everything. I found that if I called every couple of days and asked about a cancelation it helped. One day the secretary was in a good mood and felt sorry for me and got me in a week later. I am told that the wait time for surgery is less...about a month. I am sure it works differently in the US.

In the mean time, I have tried birth control pills to skip my periods. The pain has lessened but never goes away.

I am worst when I am supposed to have my period. This week I became so bloated it felt like my just like when I was pregnant. At least then I had a baby, this time I just felt miserable. Huge with heartburn...it felt like my uterus was pushing on my stomach.

I go back today for yet another exam and ultrasound. I want this to be over....sometime it feels like its consuming my life. I am scared to have the hyster...you read so many bad outcomes, but I cant stand living like this. I still have a few years before menopause! Best of luck to everyone ....Judy

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

Hi all,

Thanks - this site has been great! My husband, family, and close friends have been super-supportive, but (understandably) it's hard for them to truly relate.

I read all of your posts and keep nodding my head. I keep saying to myself, "yup, I have that symptom, and - dang, I have that one too!"

Ok, kinda bizarre, but does anyone else now have an off-center belly button? I freak out every time I look in the mirror and see this! And my abdomen was always so flat before - I worked out and tried to watch my weight. Now I look lumpy. Crazy stuff!

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

Ms Scout, right before I read your post I was looking at my bulging stomach and wondering if my belly button was right. i feel like it is pointing to the side, not straight ahead and that one side of my somach stucks out more than the other. So yes, I do feel like my belly button is off center. Lol

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

Lita39 - kinda whack, right?! I had to look at it a few days in a row to make sure I wasn't imagining things.

The other thing you said, about your GERD - I've never had acid reflux before, but I do now. Bleh.

sandinmytoes - I feel for you. It is really hard to be patient when every day seems consumed by this, this mess - I totally get it. I even asked that if they got a surgery cancellation and could push mine up, I'd take it. No one cancelled. So, I'm on for 4/26.

To everyone with upcoming surgery - good luck, girls! We are all in this together.

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

I called and the receptionist said that I can call Mondays and Wednesdays to check for cancellations. In the mean time, there's not much else to do. She suggested going to the ER if the sharp pains don't go away, but I see no point in that. The good news is that the surgery wait for the surgery is less than two weeks out, so at least I'm not looking at another month after my May 7th consult appointment.
