Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

I am so big in the abdomen area that I think that the one large fibroid that i carry must be at least as big as a 6 month foetus. I did not have any symptoms other than need to pee so often that i am becoming like a leaky pot. The only thing i noticed since 2 months ago is that i am exhausted all the time even after having a good nights sleep. Checked out all sorts of blood levels and all is fine . So i assume it is just like being Pregnant. My surgery is next week . Cant wait to get rid of the tummy but scared about the pain.

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

I can't wait until the tummy goes down. The last 2 years it has gotten big and I look prego and just thought that I was gaining weight since I started working overnight and drinking a lot more caffeine but now I kow it is my uterus and all the fibroids and everything trying to fall out and be pushed out. It has all progressed a lot in the last year. I am just gratefull to be in a good position right now with living with my boyfriend and getting cusody of my kids and getting on AHCCCS (state insurance) so I can have this surgery without to many worries. God provides a way for me and takes care of me.

I don't know how much more of this I can mentally/physically take.

Has anyone else had to wait months just to get a surgery date??
My appointment date is June 18. I've had extreme bleeding and cramping for the past 5+ years so I can't wait for my hysto (doing DaVinci). Dr. calls them "crime scene periods"! Taking everything but the ovaries. My wonderful husband wanted me to schedule it sooner but he is a first grade teacher and is not out of school until June 15 and he has already missed days because of my problem (lap, hysteroscopy and D&C in December). Time will fly by and there is so much to do, and so little time to get it all done. I'm starting to get a little nervous as well but this site is wonderful and being able to talk to other remarkable women that have gone through this or are about to go through this is priceless. My husband is the most wonderful, caring and supportive partner but he still can't understand fully about what is about to happen so this site is a godsend. I wish everyone the best and look forward to keeping "in touch" with everyone.

BIG HUGS!!!

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

I just looked at my belly for the first time in weeks... not only is it more poofy than usual it too is bulging above my navel...and it's very bruised. So not only do I feel like someone is constantly punching me in the gut, I look like it too.

I'm blaming the growing misshapen, fibroid and blood filled uterus on why I cldn't loose weight for two months doing WW and working out at the gym :-) Looking forward to being able to get back to the gym and finally shed the unwanted pounds...getting rid of poofy belly for good!

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

My surgery is Thursday and everything is going. I have a 7 month size uterus and my biggest fibroid is 20 cm!! My tummy bulges above my navel like crazy it's so good to hear I am not alone! I feel like a freak! I do not hVe a big body otherwise so will be glad to not get the "when are you due" comments. I am also curious to see how much lighter I will feel. Mine is the size of a honeydew melon!

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

I'm 10 days post op and my belly is already getting smaller! I was unable to lose any weight the past several months despite my diet and exercise. Since surgery, I'm losing 1lb a day. My face is thinning out too. It had gotten puffier with the belly.

I'm not sure the size of my uterus yet since I haven't seen my doctor since the operation but I know it was huge because my da vinci incision are rather high. I can't wait to not look pregnant all the time!

I know how you feel, 2 months before my surgery my uterus was at 22 1/2 weeks (5 1/2 months prego) and it got bigger than that before I had the surgery (almost 2 weeks ago). I was actualy excited to have my hysterectomy because of all my discomfort and side affects. (I had 7 large fibroids) I already feel so much better and you will too. Hang in there girl!

Re: I look four-five months pregnant!

Since so many of you have huge fibroids as I do and anemic etc can you tell me if any of you experience edema in the feet and ankles? Sometimes it really shows others they just feel "full and tingly" when I walk on them.

I look four-five months pregnant!

I was lucky and never had anemia, my blood levels were always normal. And again, I was lucky that I didn't bleed a lot during surgery (my doc was shocked) so unfortunatey I can't help you with that :-(
