Re: Depressed, crying, and boobs hurt

I am sorry you are feeling this way,

First you can get mild depression from major surgery which is what you had no matter how it was done, not sure if you have been back to work or not because sometimes the isolation - lack of adult company can also bring us down.

second even though you have your ovaries does not mean they are working at their best, they have gone into shock

here are some pages to look at that may explain it some more

this diagram shows possible blood flow to the ovaries

talk to your dr and let them know what you are feeling and going through. Maybe they can check your hormone levelsI hope you can find some relief as I know what the crying and sad part but not the sore boobs. Good luck post back and let us know what your dr has said

Hello! Maybe your ovaries are waking up and doing their thing. Maybe that's why your boobs hurt. and other emotions are bubbling....Or you're just crying to cry...which I seemed to do for weeks out of surgery!

Hang in there...sending lots of HUGS your way!!! :-)

Re: Depressed, crying, and boobs hurt

Hi Khallman ... Sorry to hear you are having a rough time!

Im 6 weeks post op (Uterus removed, Ovaries and Cervix Kept.) Fortunately so far I havn't experienced the up and down emotions, but I really did have the sore boobs problem.

I did a bit of research and learnt that a low intake of Omega Oils can cause this problem .. So I increased my Omegas by having 2 tablespoons of ground Flaxseed, and 2 tablespoons of ground Sunflower, Pumpkin and Sesame Seeds all mixed into my breakfast porridge .. I followed this with a Vitamin B Complex Tablet and 500mg Effervescent Vitamin C instead of my beloved cup of Black Coffee. Now, I have no idea whether it is a coincidence, but the sore boobs disappeared within a few days and also my PMS didnt seem as severe.

If you think you may be low in your Omegas it might be worth a try .. Hope you feel better soon

Re: Depressed, crying, and boobs hurt

I kept my ovaries and removed uterus/cervix. I'm almost 6 weeks post op and my boobs hurt for the 2nd time in the last 6 weeks. My docs says you can still have PMS symptons, and it seems to be true! The first time I had the sadness/boobs hurting and hunger! Not sure why my boobs hurt now, but can't sleep on my belly! Hang in there, hope it gets better!

I'm so sorry your having a hard time. I can't offer help with the sadness and crying but I can with the sore boobs. I am 11 weeks post-op and if kept your ovaries you will still ovulate and get PMS each month. For me, it only lasts a couple days. It is annoying but I prefer to think of it as a reminder of why I had the surgery in the first place. Call your doctor and explain what you are going through. Maybe your hormones are out of whack from the surgery and can give you something to help. Good luck.

Re: Depressed, crying, and breasts hurt

If you kept your ovaries it is very likely PMS. You will still cycle, symptoms and all, but no period! I have found that I still need to track my cycle. That way I know why I and more tired, weepy, and have sore breasts. My left ovary is definitely doing it's job.

Hang in there. Your body is still figuring out what is going on. The hormonal stuff can take awhile to settle down. I am 4 months out and feeling pretty darn good most of the time.

Re: Depressed, crying, and breasts hurt

Wow!!! I had no idea that if you kept an ovary that you still experienced PMS???!!! This is me! I thought I was losing it! I'm a little over 4 months post op and every month around the same time, I feel the same old pre surgery symptoms; minus the cramps.. The Doc has me on HTR because the one ovary I left behind supposedly quick working after surgery. I just assumed that the PMS feeling was like a "phantom itch" that people experience when they lose a limb.. Thanks for sharing everyone!!
