8 wks post op from TAH and BSO

Im roughly 8 weeks out from my surgery. I still dont feel anything like the person I used to be. I have had 3 changes in my hormones. Most recently a week ago, the dr increased my estradiol to 2 mg and started me on vagifem. im still having out bursts of crying, and being very crabby. sex drive....nothing at all what it used to be. i have no clue how to make it come back. i know i needed the surgery, but i totally regret ever having it because it has totally destroyed me.

Re: 8 wks post op from TAH and BSO

I'm very sorry you're having such a rough time. There is a hormonal support forum on here that might be helpful. From everything I've read, it can take some trial and error to get the hormones right. I lucked out in that my doctor figured out the right thing and the right time so I've been good, but I understand that I'm the exception rather than the rule. That's why the hormonal support forums here are so helpful. Most women report feeling good and happy after they figure out the right combo for them.

Ohhh, hun, it's okay - you're still in the recovery phase and I know it seems like it's taking forever, but give yourself some time to adjust. You'll be okay. Hang in there - you've got lots of people around here who can relate to the ups and downs, so feel free to come here and vent. Be patient with yourself and your body, take it super easy, and be good to yourself. Your hormones are to blame, and it will surely take some time for everything to get evened out ... good luck to you and happy healing!
