Time change I don't know if I can do this...

I have been so nervous all week went for my pre op test yesterday and thought I was going to be sick.
NOW they changed my time from 10:30 to 1:00. Liquid diet all day Sunday Bowel Prep at 4 than fasting from midnight. REALLY!!!! I have also heard on here where a few people were bumped and ended up being re scheduled after they already had done the bowel prep and sat at the hospital for hours.
sorry I am just starting to really freak out.
I am trying to read all of the positive posts and know that I am doing the right thing but wow I am so tempted to cancel.

Hi Kris- you can pity party here w your sisters anytime. We may tell you to pull up your big girl panties & feel btr tho. JUST KIDDING . Im so sorry they changed your surgery time! Hey, maybe look at it as your surgeon will be all refreshed & had lunch. Dont want him/her to be hungry- that can be very distracting. LOL.
Keep your chin up! We are all here for you... Keep reminding yourself WHY you are doing this.
Big HUGS!!!!

Re: Time change I don't know if I can do this...

Kris- I hope my joking didnt offend you. I just thought Id try to give you a little giggle. I have a friend of mine that would absolutely scream at me for how much time Ive spent on here reading. I dont go crazy, I dont think. Its important to have people you can talk to that are or have gone through something similar. I am so greatful for this site. Dont have a hubby or partner to talk with, so I come on here before bed & "talk & listen". I didnt look- is your surgery scheduled for the 30th? I have my pre-op "phone call" for the hosp 2moro, testing friday & surg May 9th. Have you finished your "nesting activities"? Lol
Big hugs to you!

Re: Time change I don't know if I can do this...

I had to fast before my surgery last week. I ate some tacos late Tuesday night and then nothing again until I woke up from surgery on Thursday evening- toast that refused to chew itself. I was a little hungry before bowel prep and then not hungry again until on the way to the hospital the next day. My nerves played in my favor this time and kept me from focusing on food.

Re: Time change I don't know if I can do this...

They moved me from 7am to 10:30am because the hyster before me needed a urologist to step in and do bladder repairs and he was only available for the 7am slot. I went to the hospital as instructed at 8am, but then didn't get into the or until 11:30 because that previous surgery went even longer than expected.

After my c-sections I was already eating solid foods by supper time because I had them at 7am, but since my hyster started late is now 7:30am the morning after my hyster and I still haven't been allowed to eat. I'm doing fine though. The general anesthesia slows your digestive system down so that this long fast isn't bothering me.

You'll get through it. I did and I'm just fine. I'm sitting in my hospital bed right now waiting for my doctor to come check me.
