I'm on the other side

I had my hysterectomy yesterday. I definitely had adenomyosis. The doctor also said I had a ton (too many to count) of cysts in one of my felopian tubes. She took the tube, my uterus, and cervix but saved both ovaries. She wanted to remove the other tube since I had so many cysts in the other, but she said the tube shared too much blood supply with that ovary and she didn't think she could remove that tube without damaging the ovary. Now I'm just crossing my fingers that I don't get more cysts later down the road. She said my bladder was stuck to my uterus with adhesions, but it wasn't difficult for her to separate the two and so far my bladder seems to be working fine.

The pain and recovery haven't been as bad as my c-sections. They hurt far worse than this. The gas pains are the worst of it. My incisions don't hurt at all, but my abdominal muscles are very soar and when I first woke my bowls and bladder hurt really bad.

I wish all of you ladies who are still waiting for your surgeries much luck.

Re: I'm on the other side

So glad you are past your surgery, Abagayle. Hope you have a speedy recovery. I've read on the website about having and taking gas remedies but did not know what for, other then gas. I understand it now. I am a little concerned about what pain that first bowel movement will be like too. My Op date is May 7th.
